Brief description of the work

The relationship between order and chaos, collective strategies of action in times of social or environmental change, as well as connections between art and science, are central themes in Jana Schumacher’s artistic work.

Her graphic works can be described as a partly abstract, yet intuitively readable system, with the ability to describe existentially important things in our world.

Her latest series of works deals with the relationship between science and religious as well as esoteric beliefs. Both science and religion are examined as so-called action strategies, as social reaction patterns to respond to the instability of the present.
