Pinté esta imagen a finales del año pasado con un pincel muy grande, a partir de un gesto rápido, un movimiento expresivo, y en realidad estaba destinada a ser una obra abstracta. Pero cuando intenté desarrollarla más, de repente apareció algo que parecía un rostro con una mueca. Desde la distancia, incluso se asemejaba a una Madonna con un velo, solo que esta Madonna, a diferencia de las habituales, no parecía particularmente amigable. Creo que esta imagen también puede interpretarse como una reinterpretación de lo sagrado, especialmente en estos tiempos turbulentos, por lo que encajaría muy bien en una exposición en la Iglesia de San Antonio.

I painted this image at the end of last year with a very large brush, using a quick gesture, an expressive movement, and it was originally intended to be an abstract painting. But as I continued to develop it, something suddenly appeared that looked like a face with a grimace. From a distance, it even resembled a Madonna with a veil, except that this Madonna, unlike the usual ones, did not seem particularly friendly. I think this painting can also be seen as a reinterpretation of the sacred, especially in these turbulent times, which is why it would fit very well in an exhibition at Iglesia San Antonio.
