The artist Maria Leutnant develops her collages during a semester abroad as a visual reflection on the state of in-betweenness. They depict new places through the filter of Generation Z: shaped by media consumption, sensory overload, and the constant impulse of digital capturing. The work examines how unfamiliar places are entered and perceived. Fragmented snapshots, photographic elements, and painterly interventions condense personal and collective experiences into multilayered compositions that transform temporary impressions into lasting visual objects.

Maria Leutnant is a Germany-born and based artist. Since 2022, she has been studying Fine Arts at the Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen Ottersberg and completed an ERASMUS+ semester abroad in Greece. Her artistic practice has led her internationally to projects and exhibitions in countries such as Greece, Spain and Russia. In 2025, she was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium.

Painting, fashion, video and photography are part of her practice. Her work addresses Generation Z themes such as sensory overload, consumption and social media, as well as questions of self-presentation, public appearance and inner experience.
