English: In “Dazwischen” (In Between), Merle Renkl deals with everyday movements and the view from the first-person perspective. The aim is to depict and explore the in-between in a playful and humorous way. On the way from here to there, the hand is captured as a snapshot to show its function: holding. Whether it’s a toothpick or a shower head, everyone has held these things at some point. The view depicted can trigger a sense of connection and seem familiar. The everyday nature of the scenes can evoke a personal experience.
