Stellvertreter:in lesen (Reading Representative)
In the project “Stellvertreter:in lesen”, Tamino Dathe deals with social codes. For various reasons, some people find it difficult or impossible to read and interpret these codes. The artistic process involves an examination and exploration of the coding of clothing. It is cut open, tanned and soaked in latex. The coding is explored by dissecting the pieces and making them more tangible. The haptic and ritual alteration lends the work a creature-like quality. When spread out, it serves to understand and explore social codes with regard to clothing. The work is an attempt to define a fraction of this ever-changing society in the hope of gaining access to communication and connection.

En la obra „Stellvertreter:in lesen“ Tamino Dathe se adentra en el tema de códigos sociales. Por diversos motivos, ciertas personas no son capaces de descifrar e interpretar este tipo de códigos, o sólo de manera incorrecta.
A través del proceso artístico se observa y experimenta con la codificación del mundo de la ropa. En la obra la ropa presentada es cortada, estirada y hundida en látex. La codificación es investigada gracias a la „disección“ para poder acercarse más a ella. El cambio de carácter ritual y táctil otorga a la obra a su vez un lado más vivo.
Al estar estirado esto ayuda a entender e investigar los códigos sociales de la ropa. La obra es un intento de determinar una pequeña parte de la sociedad en constante cambio, con la esperanza de recibir de ello acceso a comunicación y conexión.
