Nach dem ersten Teil der Ausstellung auf Ibiza im April, inmitten der symbolträchtigen Kulisse des „Faro de Ses Coves Blanques“, setzt sich die Gruppenausstellung „Entránsito“ nun mit etwa 40 teilnehmenden Künstler*innen in Hamburg fort. Am 12. Oktober 2024 um 19 Uhr öffnet der Raum linksrechts seine Türen für die zweite Station dieses künstlerischen Dialogs.
Während Ibiza mit seinem Leuchtturm als Ort der Begegnung und Reflexion auf die Themen Migration, Flucht und den Einfluss des Massentourismus fokussierte, wird Hamburg als weltoffene Hafenstadt zum neuen Schauplatz der Auseinandersetzung. Die Stadt, geprägt von Geschichte und Wandel, steht in engem Austausch mit globalen Bewegungen und gesellschaftlichen Spannungen. Hier kreuzen sich lokale und internationale Ströme von Menschen und Waren, von Ideen und Ängsten.
Der Titel „Entránsito“ verweist weiterhin auf den Zwischenzustand, das Dazwischen-Sein: zwischen Ankunft und Abreise, zwischen Hoffnung und Realität, zwischen Aufbruch und Stillstand. Künstlerinnen aus Hamburg und Ibiza reflektieren in ihren Arbeiten erneut die Ambivalenzen von Mobilität und Zugehörigkeit. Sie stellen Fragen nach den sozialen und kulturellen Auswirkungen von Migration und Tourismus, die sowohl auf Ibiza als auch in Hamburg präsent sind, jedoch in unterschiedlichen Facetten sichtbar werden.
Während in San Antoni auf Ibiza das Licht des Leuchtturms als Hoffnungssignal fungierte, spiegelt sich in Hamburg die Nähe zum Hafen wider – ein Ort, der über Jahrhunderte ein Tor zur Welt war und der Bewegung von Menschen, Gütern und Ideen ermöglichte. Doch auch hier birgt das globale Netz der Verbindungen Spannungen: Die Stadt ist geprägt von Migration, dem Aufeinandertreffen unterschiedlichster Kulturen und den ökonomischen Herausforderungen einer globalisierten Welt. Diese Ausstellung hinterfragt, wie urbane Räume wie Hamburgs Gängeviertel, nicht nur Orte des Ankommens und Fortgehens sind, sondern auch Schauplätze für Identitätskonflikte und soziale Ungleichheiten.
Der zweite Teil von „Entránsito“ lädt das Publikum dazu ein, über das, was Heimat und Fremde bedeutet, nachzudenken und wie sich diese Konzepte in Zeiten globaler Umbrüche neu formen. Hamburg und Ibiza stehen dabei exemplarisch für Orte des Übergangs – zwischen Nord und Süd, Arm und Reich, Zuhause und Fremde. Inmitten dieses Spannungsfeldes entsteht ein kreativer Raum, in dem die Künstlerinnen die sozialen, kulturellen und ökonomischen Dynamiken unserer Zeit erkunden und visuell verarbeiten.
Kuratiert von einem internationalen Team und realisiert in Zusammenarbeit mit der Galerie Raum linksrechts, wird „Entránsito Hamburgo“ zu einer künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit der Frage, wie sich Städte und ihre Bewohner*innen in einer Welt im Wandel neu positionieren – stets auf der Suche nach Licht, Orientierung und neuen Möglichkeiten.

Por segunda vez, tras el éxito del proyecto piloto de 2023, un grupo de artistas y comisarios de Hamburgo e Ibiza volverán a reunirse en Sa Antoni de Portmany para abordar artísticamente las cuestiones y los problemas del turismo excesivo, la economía del movimiento y los problemas estrechamente relacionados de la migración, la huida, la globalización y la discriminación.
En 2023, el tema central fue el filósofo Walter Benjamín y su estancia en los terrenos de Sa Punta des Molí durante la dictadura nazi.

Antiguamente situado en el extremo deshabitado de la larga bahía de Sa Antoni de Portmany, ahora forma parte del paisaje urbano. Inaugurado en 1897 como símbolo del tráfico marítimo y naviero visible desde lejos por la noche, el edificio ha sufrido muchos cambios desde entonces. En 1963 se clausuró y el progreso privó al faro de su función original. En 2010, tras una profunda restauración, el Ayuntamiento reabrió el edificio y lo habilitó como centro sociocultural con una sala de exposiciones y un centro de estudios marítimos. Su privilegiada ubicación en el centro de San Antoni hace del faro un punto de encuentro cultural de fácil acceso y popularidad, con un programa anual de exposiciones y eventos de todo tipo.
Como parte del proyecto „EnTránsito“, esta vez el faro pretende referirse temáticamente a la ambigüedad de su efecto simbólico y su significado como punto de señalización. Por un lado, el destello luminoso simboliza un aviso de bajamar y de aproximación a los acantilados para evitar zozobrar. Por otro lado, esta señal, este resplandor, no sólo es atractivo, sino que también sirve para determinar la ubicación. En la oscuridad, la luz no sólo nos atrae, sino que también da esperanza, valor y confianza. Si trasladamos esta ambigüedad del faro y su efecto señalizador a los sistemas occidentales y económicamente acomodados, la ambivalencia inherente al faro puede aplicarse también a los intereses y motivaciones de la migración.
Por un lado, desde el punto de vista económico, todos los países quieren mano de obra y consumidores y, por otro, les gustaría expulsar rápidamente a los refugiados no deseados porque a la población le puede preocupar que puedan sobrecargar y alienar a las sociedades sociales y las culturas específicas de cada país. Un área de tensión similar puede encontrarse también en el turismo, para el que lugares como San Antoni son poderosos significantes. Reflejan el deseo de sol y relajación y transmiten el aroma de la libertad. En lugares como San Antoni, los veraneantes pueden escapar de su vida cotidiana y de todas las limitaciones. Pero al mismo tiempo, este éxito turístico no sólo trae prosperidad y puestos de trabajo. Para la población local, la vivienda se convierte en un bien inasequible, cuando no escaso. Esto no sólo plantea la cuestión de quién se beneficia realmente de esta prosperidad, sino que lugares como San Antoni también se enfrentan a la preocupación de verse desbordados y alienados por el turismo de masas.
Durante una semana, artistas y estudiantes seleccionados, junto con el equipo curatorial del proyecto „En tránsito“, trabajarán e interactuarán en torno a la plataforma cargada de simbolismo del faro de Ses Coves Blances. Al hacerlo, hacen referencia a una realidad en constante cambio y, al mismo tiempo, procesan artísticamente las cuestiones que se han hecho visibles dentro de los temas de la migración, la huida, el turismo de masas, el miedo a la infiltración extranjera y la discriminación.

For the second time, after the successful pilot project in 2023, a group of artists and curators from Hamburg and Ibiza will once again come together in Sa Antoni de Portmany to artistically address the issues and problems of overtourism, the economy of movement, as well as the closely related problems of migration, flight, globalization and discrimination.
In 2023, the focus was on the philosopher Walter Benjamin and his stay on the grounds of Sa Punta des Moli during the Nazi dictatorship.

The „Faro de Ses Coves Blances“ lighthouse will serve as a place for encounters and discussions.
Formerly located at the uninhabited end of the long bay of Sa Antoni de Portmany, it is now part of the city landscape. Inaugurated in 1897 as a symbol of sea and shipping that could be seen from far at night, the building has undergone many changes since then. It was decommissioned in 1963 and progress deprived the lighthouse of its original function.
In 2010, after a thorough restoration, the city council reopened the building and set it up as a socio-cultural center with an exhibition hall and a center for maritime studies. Its privileged location in the center of San Antoni makes the lighthouse an easily accessible and popular cultural meeting point with an annual program of exhibitions and events of all kinds.
This time, as part of the „EnTransíto“ project, the lighthouse is intended to thematically refer to the ambiguity of its symbolic effect and significance as a signal point. On the one hand, the flashing light stands for a warning of shallows in the sea and approaching cliffs to avoid capsizing. On the other hand, this signal, this glow, is not only attractive, but also serves to determine location. In the darkness, light not only attracts us, it also gives people hope, courage and confidence. If we transfer this ambiguity of the lighthouse and its signaling effect to Western and economically well-off systems, then the ambivalence inherent in the lighthouse can also be applied to the interests and motivations of migration.
On the one hand, every country wants workers and consumers from an economic point of view, and on the other hand, it would like to expel unwanted refugees quickly because the population may be concerned that they could overburden and alienate social societies and country-specific cultures. A similar area of tension can also be found within tourism, for which places like San Antoni Signal are powerful symbols. They reflect the desire for sun and relaxation and convey the scent of freedom. In places like San Antoni, vacationers can escape their everyday lives and all constraints. At the same time, however, such tourist success does not only bring prosperity and jobs. For the locals, housing becomes unaffordable, if not a scarce commodity. This not only raises the question of who is really benefiting from this prosperity, but places like San Antoni are also confronted with concerns about overcrowding and alienation in the wake of mass tourism.
For one-week, selected artists and students, together with the curatorial team of the
“En tránsito“ project, will work and interact around the symbolically charged platform of the „Faro de Ses Coves Blances“ lighthouse. In doing so, they refer to a constantly changing reality and at the same time artistically process the issues that have become visible within the themes of migration, flight, mass tourism, fear of foreign infiltration and discrimination.
