For the fourth time – after the successful projects in 2023, 2024 and 2025 – a group of artists and curators from Hamburg and Ibiza will come together in Sant Antoni de Portmany. Together, they will artistically explore the themes and peripheral areas of migration, movement, travelling and the closely related challenges such as longing, desires, inspiration, happiness, but also lack of stability and inspiration. Especially today, in times of regressive behaviour by the major powers, it is important that we artists confront these conservative movements.
‘En Transíto’ invites us to experience transitions, cultural encounters, longings, cultural confrontations, discoveries, etc. in a new way. The title reflects the striving for change and the movement between here and there, between memory and new beginnings.
The choice of ever-changing exhibition venues determines the orientation of the theme. The location of Sant Antoni de Portmany always remains the same. Nevertheless, all the works exhibited here are intended to become an experiential space that makes the transition between past, present and future tangible.
‘EnTransito’ is an invitation to question one’s own connection to art, space and time, to look beyond cultural and intellectual boundaries and to discover a new perspective in the spaces in between – be it between Hamburg and Ibiza or between here and elsewhere.
For one week, selected artists and students will work and interact with the curatorial team of ‘En Transíto’ in Sant Antoni de Portmany. In doing so, they will refer to a constantly changing reality and artistically process the resulting questions. Themes such as longing, desires, inspiration, transition and the search for happiness take centre stage.
In exchange, an exhibition will take place in Hamburg in October 2026. A version with small-format works from the exhibition in Sant Antoni de Portmany could then be shown at level one.

Por cuarta vez, tras los exitosos proyectos de los años 2023, 2024 y 2025, un grupo de artistas y comisarios de Hamburgo e Ibiza se reunirá en Sant Antoni de Portmany. Zum vierten Mal – nach den erfolgreichen Projekten in den Jahren 2023, 2024 und 2025 – wird sich eine Gruppe von Künstler:innen und Kurator:innen aus Hamburg und Ibiza in Sant Antoni de Portmany zusammenfinden. Gemeinsam setzen sie sich künstlerisch mit den Themen und Randbereichen von Migration, der Bewegung, Reisen und den damit eng verknüpften Herausforderungen wie Sehnsucht, Wünsche, Inspiration, Glück aber auch der Haltlosigkeit und Inspiration auseinander. Gerade heute, in Zeiten von regressivem Verhalten der Großmächte ist es wichtig, dass wir Künstler:innen diesen konservativen Bewegungen etwas entgegenbringen.
„En Transíto“ lädt dazu ein, Übergänge, kulturelle Begegnungen, Sehnsüchte, kulturelle Konfrontationen, Entdeckungen etc. neu zu erleben. Der Titel spiegelt das Streben nach Veränderung und die Bewegung zwischen Hier und Dort, zwischen Erinnerung und Aufbruch wider.
Die Wahl der immer wechselnden Ausstellungsorte bestimmt die Ausrichtung der Themenstellung. Der Ort Sant Antoni de Portmany bleibt immer gleich. Dennoch sollen alle hier ausgestellten Werke zu einem Erlebnisraum werden, der den Übergang zwischen Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft spürbar macht.
„EnTransito“ ist eine Einladung, die eigene Verbindung zu Kunst, Raum und Zeit zu hinterfragen, über kulturelle und geistige Grenzen hinauszublicken und in den Zwischenräumen eine neue Perspektive zu entdecken – sei es zwischen Hamburg und Ibiza oder zwischen Hier und Anderswo.
Für eine Woche werden ausgewählte Künstler*innen und Studierende gemeinsam mit dem Kurator:innenteam von „En Transíto“ in Sant Antoni de Portmany arbeiten und interagieren. Dabei verweisen sie auf eine sich ständig wandelnde Wirklichkeit und verarbeiten künstlerisch die daraus entstandenen Fragestellungen. Im Zentrum stehen Themen wie Sehnsucht, Wünsche, Inspiration, Transition und die Suche nach Glück.
Im Austausch findet im Oktober 2026 eine Ausstellung in Hamburg statt. Eine Version mit kleinformatigen Arbeiten aus der Ausstellung in Sant Antoni de Portmany könnte dann im level one zu sehen sein.
